Country life in South Dakota

Country life in South Dakota During the cold war, some farmhouses in midwestern USA had an underground secret - an ultimate nuclear weapon-The Minuteman II ICBM.Summer 2013, I traveled in the midwest and had the chance to visit a dismantle ICBM launch silo in South Dakota. It was an ironic feeling to be next to a deadly weapon while in a peaceful countryside. In order to express the ironic co-existence of peace and warfare, I chose a diagonal composition; warm, autumn tone for the farm field on upper diorama in contrast with the coldness of the underground missile control room; colors conversion on the middle pick-up truck will be a mediator. The swinging boy, windmill, and extending branches add dynamics to the whole quiescence. Scratch built by paper and plastic,pick-up and figures-MENG (2014戰鷹杯模型競賽情景組第三名)
